High Bit-rate Satellite Transceivers

A high bit-rate S band transceiver was designed and developed to transfer image payload data from a LEO satellite at 600 Kbps. This transceiver was equipped with distinct AGC and AFC blocks to enhance the receiver sensitivity as well as to correct for the Doppler effect. A modified version of HDLC was utilized as the data handling and transferring algorithm.

  • Hardware implemented on Texas Instruments TMS320F2812 DSP
  • Software developed in Visual C++
  • object-oriented programming (has a graphical user interface)
